# How to create Segment of Interest(SOI)/insights of a particular segment?

*By creating segment interest(SOI), you can understand your media performance at a particular time duration, which will help you understand users' emotional responses and attention matrices for the parts which you consider essential in the media.*

 *💡Please note that this feature is only applicable to those Affect Lab campaigns that have facial coding enabled and if the media has both eye tracking and facial coding, then the option for creating AOI will appear instead of SOI.* 

Here are the steps for creating SOI and viewing the result:

**Step 1**: Log in to the affect lab platform; you will be landed on the dashboard/homepage and go to the insights(beta) tab.

**Step 2**: Select the campaign name, test name and media name from the dropdown available and click on apply button. You will find insights for the selected media on the page.

**Step 4:** Once you click on the button, a pop-up will appear on the screen where you can add the segment name and the time duration of the segment.

**Step 5:** As soon as you create the segment, it will be added as a chart under the "Area of Interest" chart section. You can find all the emotional insights in the chart. Scroll left to right to explore all the emotions.
